Bikes / Pins / Harps and sheep

Well today has been a exciting day we got up early this morning Katie had a Doctors appointment and I had to go see my specialist. I got back about Lunch time and we had a we quick lunch before deciding to go on a bike ride with my daughters,
We had tackled this yesterday and my youngest daughter got in a bit of a tearful moos as she was fed up with the amount of hills. but alas today was a different story she stuck it out and cycled up the hill and loved coming back across the moors , she managed a good five miles and was ok till we got home and she fell off her bike at the bottom of the drive which was a bit of a worry because she had pins and screws put in her arm only 4 weeks ago.

Olivia went for a bath and meanwhile I decided that it was that time again to dip the sheep in order to get rid of the foot rot.
I am pleased to say that all in all the sheeps feet are showing definate signs of healing the embalming fluid stuff that I was told to use does seem to kill the bacteria off although it is a terrible job trying to get all the sheep through it and I have decided that next week I must devise a better way to dip the sheep rather than using a old bath!

All in all a good day katie has had a practice and I have finally started to enjoy myself and feel that I am unwinding

A Wedding in Helmsley

Today we drove up to Helmsley just outsidfe York and 30 miles from scarborough. Katie was performing at a wedding in the "Black Swan" So I had got up ealy this morning packed the bikes in the van , and off we set.
We made good time and arrived in Yorks a little after 12 then dropped Katie off and once we knew she was settled we parked up and decided to take a look around. It was not longbefore we spotted a free Mini bus to Duncombe house a stately home . I agreed with the girls we should go and have a look and thats just what we did,
After a quick look around Lucia and Olivia wanted there easter present so I gave them some money and we set off back to Helmsley where we promptly unloaded the bikes and set off in the direction of Pickering!.
A mile down the road and my youngest was out of breath and so we decided not to do the six miles but to just have a cycle down the road and then back.

It turns out our decision was a well balanced one as my peddle fell off and I had not got tools to put it back on and so I crawled back to the car park where I just had time to have a drink of tea from the flask before , Katie finished.

Poor Katie fancied a look around but I was in a hurry to get home and we were going to have a take away until we noticed all the local shops were closed !!!

After a quick tea I locked up our hens for the night and poor Kate totally wiped out went up to bed . All in all a busy day

Easter

we have had quite a busy week Kate has been making more harps and converting some of her triple harps into quad hard with 4 sets of strings . She is playing at a wedding up near York on sunday I think me and my girls will be going with her to take the driving out of it and we will also have a look round whilst we are there.
I am in a bit of a quandry I wanted to send my son Jack that I do not see a Easter egg but missed the post not sure if I should send one now or just a letter afterwards I will have to have a think on that one.
I have managed to plant the wheat approximately 1/2 a tonne so far and this year I have flattened the land and deliberately compacted it in order to see if I get a better result I watched a local farmer do this last week and he has grown so much over the last few years he must be doing something right so I thought it would be worth a try.

Wind turbines and recording decks

Last night we travelled over to Bolton and collected a new recording deck for Kate to try out ee have not had the chance to do it yet as today we decided to erect the wind turbing set it up, wire in the batteries and view a house and also take Kates car into the garage we got a lot done today and I have to admit to feeling slightly drained , tomorrows job is to do the side of the house and to finish some of the hen pens off . Kate is performing in Cowling on Sunday I do not think I will be going with her as I am a bit behind on my home work and I have not been sleeping too well of late either

Anyway enough about that watch this space for news of kates new cd which she will be starting tomorrow
